Urethral Fistula Repair

For Female-to-Male

Overview

Fistulas resulting from urethral lengthening procedures are estimated at 3% to 25% depending on the surgeon and procedure. Dr. McGinn offers urethral fistula repair that can usually be accomplished on an outpatient basis. Fistula repair can be complex, so an in-person consultation is required prior to answering questions about your case. The fees for this surgery vary, depending on the complexity of the repair required. Candidates for surgery must not smoke and stop testosterone 1-2 weeks prior to surgery (depending on IM or transdermal) and 2 1/2 weeks following surgery to prevent spontaneous erection and poor wound healing. This surgery can be combined with other surgeries such as hysterectomy or mons repositioning.
